scenes from the recording studio (rock ‘n’ roll baby)

From the DEPARTMENT OF ROCK AND ROLL…

A rock and roll band invaded our house this weekend…

Loved this gorgeous photo by Tracie P

It’s always so amazing to work with Céline in the studio… incredible voice, incredible chops…

Rock ‘n’ roll is a very serious business or so says Jean-Luc

And the best part of having the band record its new album at our house? There’s always someone around to entertain little Georgia P. I wish yall could hear her laugh… it’s the SWEETEST thing…

Back in the studio and Georgia P’s new bouncy chair

Yup, hell has frozen over once again and the band is getting back together…

Yesterday, we — Nous Non Plus — started working on our new album at Baby P Studios (above, my home studio).

And in other news…

Somebody got a new bouncy chair… :)

Where I want to be all the time (the greatest love)

Unfortunately, I’ve got to leave Austin again tomorrow for a few days. But it sure has been nice to be in one place for a while.

Most early evenings, I tune out around 5 p.m. and play guitar and sing for Georgia P until she’s ready for her bath. All she has to do is look at me and another love song just seems to flow from my finger tips. She’s such an inspiration and such a joy for us…

Mini me…

We love her so much… she’s so sweet and such an easy baby…

Tracie P has begun calling her “mini Jeremy P”… :)

(Check out Tracie P’s post from today on the pros and cons of the nursing stool…)

Georgia P’s first Easter (man, am I glad to be reunited with my girls)

Every day while I was away in Italy, Georgia and Tracie P would send me a photo of them as soon as they woke up. Buon giorno, daddy was the subject line. It sure helped to assuage the loneliness that came with being away from them. But, man, there’s nothing like the real thing, baby

Yesterday, we celebrated Georgia P’s first Easter with an Easter basket.

Dinner of steamed, roast, and sautéed vegetables…

and roast chicken for mommy and daddy…

paired with 2007 Produttori del Barbaresco classic Barbaresco…

and Irving Berlin’s 1948 Easter Parade, starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland…

Man, is it good to be back home…

I can’t smile without them…

We took these Polaroids this morning as I was packing and getting ready to leave for Europe.

I wept in the parking lot at the airport when I kissed them goodbye and when the TSA agent asked me if she could go to Venice in my place, I couldn’t hold back the tears.

Everyone says that you can’t know what it’s like to be a parent until you become one and that it changes your life in ways you simply can’t imagine…

No one ever told me about the heartbreak… I just can’t smile without them

You know I can’t smile without you
I can’t smile without you
I can’t laugh and I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you’re sad
I feel glad when you’re glad
If you only knew what I’m going through
I just can’t smile without you

You came along just like a song
And brightened my day
Who would of believed that you where part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away

And now you know I can’t smile without you
I can’t smile without you
I can’t laugh and I can’t sing
I’m finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when your sad
I feel glad when you’re glad
If you only knew what I’m going through
I just can’t smile

Now some people say happiness takes so very long to find
Well, I’m finding it hard leaving your love behind me

how sweet it is (to be loved by her)

Lil’ Georgia P was three months old yesterday (thirteen weeks) and she’s not so little anymore!

She’s starting to sit up straight and to turn her head side to side. And man, she loves to talk! It’s just baby talk but she just goes on and on as if she’s carefully explaining something very important…

I’m on the road today in Houston. I never really knew what loneliness was until I had to be separated from my femminucce. But Tracie P takes lots of photos (like this one) and sends them to me throughout the day.

How sweet it is to be loved by her…
