“I don’t know why but I had never been to the place where Pasolini was killed…”
Thank you Comrade Christa, thank you Comrade Howard for sharing this…

When I was a student in Pavia I bought the poster of that movie one day in Milan. It has a quote which reads (I’m translating): “I believe in people. But I don’t believe in the majority of people. Even in a more decent society than this one I know I will always find myself at ease and in agreement with a minority.” It’s still hanging in my apartment.
Ciao, Jeremy– I continue to follow your blog, which just gets better and better. Thanks for posting this…one of my favorite scenes, from one of my favorite films. Somehow this piece from Keith Jarrett’s The Koln Concert sounds like it’s emanating directly from the sand in Ostia. I’m having a hard time believing I’ll be in Rome on Friday, but this post makes it seem all the more real.
Keep up the great work, and hit me up the next time you’re in New York.
@Comrades James and Kevin thanks for the solidarity… Comrade Howard sent me the video via Comrade Christa’s FB and it really spoke to me… That movie had such a lasting effect on us as an expression of our disillusionment (reminding me of Scola’s “Ci eravamo tanto amati”, no?). And yes, wow, the Jarrett piece is gorgeous… Thanks for commenting…
