Here’s what the fair organizers had to say about Alfonso:
Alfonso is “known as the ‘Italian Wine Guy’ for his profound knowledge of the top wineries as well as the small grape varieties of the Italian enological heritage. A great communicator, he expresses his passion for Italian vines and culture through his blog On the Wine Trail in Italy and his intense career as director of Glazer’s Italian wine program for the last twenty-one years, Certified Specialist of Wine, and special contributor to The Dallas Morning News and The Well Fed Network.”
I took that photo of Alfonso a few years back at TexSom, the annual Texas sommelier conference.
It’s great to see that the powers-that-be have recognized his immense contribution to Italian wine education in the United States and beyond.
Mazel tov, Alfonso!
He’s part of a panel
today Monday at the fair — the Italian wine world’s annual trade gathering. He’ll be speaking about Italian wine and virtual media… pane per i suoi denti!
I’ll be heading down to the fair shortly. If you’re attending, let’s taste! Buona fiera a tutti!
