Buon divertimento.

i logon just to see if the pics of sal's pomodori do them justice (they didnt') and instead i get detoured to some post with me in my favorite juicy couture top con il nostro amico filippo and the man himself. i just don't understand why you all think that little pink paper at the top of the bottle is so important. it sure doesn't lead to more moola. just ask angelo.

remind me to tell you sometime about the time four of us had to escape the [allegedly] vip tour at banfi. we had to scale the wall. i am not kidding.

Adrian, I guess nobody would risk to put their signature under such a list, before an appropriate verification. However, in a wine tasting of Brunello that I organised recently (see http://vinonostrum.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html) and where friends from different nationalities and tastes participated I was happy to see that the the wines of the "traditionalists" or "purists" of Brunello (Biondi Santi and Soldera first of all, but also Mastrojanni) were appreciated more than wines of the more "modernists" (like Castelgiocondo).

This is also a signal that there is no need to make more concessions on the "Disciplinare" of Brunello by allowing a first (100% Sangiovese) and second class Brunello. If, like Angelo gaja says, there are only a bunch of winegrowers that own lands that are the most suited for a good Brunello let's simply these producers enjoy the reputation of the most famous wine of Italy (of course with barolo) and not make the "Disciplinare" more flexible in order to produce a Brunello that would best suit the the big stores at 15$ the bottle.
